Mig-21 The Soviets made aircraft which got air superiority over western aircrafts during Vietnam war

The Vietnam War(1965-1973) was the second proxy war that was being fought between the Soviets and the American after the Second World War. It's noteworthy that the Soviets officially never entered the war. 

The US-led capitalist coalition suffered a tragic defeat in the War. Which result in the extinction of capitalism ideologist from South Vietnam. This is the first time in American history that American have suffered such a tragic defeat since World War II.

The Soviet Union was the only leading power in the Communist blog for their advancement in technological sector and ability for competing the American. Despite its limited participation in the Vietnam War along with her rigional communist allies(China, North Vietnam and North Korea). Earlier we mentioned that The Soviet Union did not take part in the war officially the way US intervened in the ongoing conflict. China was the major participants along with other communist forces in the battle field against the US-led coalition forces. Although the Soviet Union played a significant role with backing the communists coalition and providing ammunition, traning and intelligence information. Arguably Western side made many claims regarding presence of Soviet pilots in the war. By the way, that's not our main topic for today let's back to our topic.

The Vietnam Air Force's MiG-21 fighter jet was the most successfully used aircraft against the US coalition in the War. The MiG-21 fightercraft was the state-of-the-art, second-generation(note: upgraded to third generation later), single-engine and the first supersonic speed capable fighter aircraft in Soviet aviation history. It was fitted one 23mm auto cannon, for long distance air-to-air attack capability it could carry three types of AAM (Air-to-air missile) including R-13, R-60 and R-55 missiles. R13 missile was famous for its high advance accuracy and for ASM (Air-to-surface missile or ground strike) purpose it was fitted with 4 bombs (two weights 500 Kilogram and other two 250 Kilogram respectively). The advanced second generation Mig-21 also could carry several types of rockets.

Arguably The Mig21 fighter jet has a kill record of 103 U.S. made F-4 phantoms, along with 105 other aircrafts (including  F105+A4+F8) as well as two B52 heavy bombers.

According to Vietnam official sources, A total number of 60+ MiG-21 aircrafts were lost during conflict. 

Fifty-four numbers of Mig21 were destroyed by F-4 pantoms and 6+ Mig21 crashed due to pilot and mechanical problems.
On the other hand, According to western sources the US led alliance had destroyed Mig-21 aircrafts respectively.
